The united company Wildberries & Russ (RVB) has begun to develop a new line of partner services — catering based on the marketplace. Users of the platform have the opportunity to order ready-made catering kits for events directly through the Wildberries showcase, without accessing third-party services.
The first partner of the project was the Karavaev Brothers Culinary Store, a network of public institutions. The partner offers catering solutions for various event formats, from business meetings and corporate parties to family celebrations and festive banquets.
The mechanics of the order are integrated into the familiar interface of the marketplace. The buyer can visit the partner's showcase in the application or on the Wildberries website and add dishes to a separate basket, formed exclusively for the order of this supplier. A progress bar is displayed for the user to reach the minimum order amount, and the delivery date is automatically indicated at checkout. Delivery is carried out by the partner's courier services, which allows you to maintain control over the quality of service.
The partnership is implemented within the framework of the DBS ("Showcase") model, in which the preparation and dispatch of the order are entirely on the seller's side, and Wildberries performs the function of a digital showcase. This format allows the marketplace to expand its range of services without changing its own logistics infrastructure, and partners to receive an additional sales channel without restructuring operational processes.
At the start of the project, more than 50 product lines are available to users, including themed sets for New Year's corporate parties and private events. The range includes classic salads, hot dishes, pies, assorted canapes, mini croissants, sandwiches and a variety of dessert sets.
Elizaveta Shlein, head of the RVB seller's delivery department, noted that the launch of catering is a logical stage in the development of food services within the marketplace ecosystem.
"We are consistently expanding the scenarios of food purchases on Wildberries - from express delivery of ready meals to more complex service formats such as catering. For users, this is an opportunity to solve the problem of organizing an event in a familiar digital environment, and for partners, it is a new sales channel without changing the production and operating model. Catering is a logical continuation of the development of the FoodTech direction and ecosystem of services within the marketplace," she stressed.
All dishes are prepared in our own factories, the kitchens of the Karavaev Brothers chain. The preparation time for a catering order is 72 hours, which allows the partner to maintain the full production cycle and quality standards.
The brand chief of the chain, Michel Evan, emphasized the philosophy of the approach to the product:
"For me, the kitchen is primarily about caring for people. In Karavaev's shops, we cook only from ultra-fresh products, according to special, carefully verified recipes, and with great attention to each guest. We try to feel the tastes and desires of our guests, so that each dish gives warmth and a feeling of sincere care."
At the current stage, the service is available to residents of Moscow within the MKAD. In the future, the partners plan to expand the geography of delivery and scale the service.
