Against the background of global economic instability, Russia and China continue to strengthen trade and economic cooperation. This was stated by the head of the representative office of the Chinese Committee for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Russia, Gao Qi, during the VI International Foreign Economic Forum.
He noted that despite the temporary decrease in mutual trade volumes during the first nine months of this year, the strategic partnership between the two countries continues to demonstrate stability. The key to this is the high degree of complementarity between the economies: China has a strong manufacturing potential and a wide domestic market, while Russia has competitive advantages in sectors such as energy, agriculture, and natural resource extraction.
According to Gao Qi, as cooperation develops in areas such as energy, digital economy, green energy and infrastructure projects, trade between the two countries will not only recover, but also move towards sustainable growth. Prospects are also opening up in the field of cross-border logistics, which is becoming increasingly relevant against the background of geopolitical changes.
Nevertheless, he stressed that both sides will have to work in conditions of foreign policy instability and increasing pressure in the international arena. In such a situation, the stability of political dialogue and mutual understanding between States play a crucial role. Joint efforts aimed at strengthening coordination and practical cooperation will contribute to further unlocking the potential of bilateral cooperation.
The expert also recalled the importance of diversifying the areas of cooperation and continuing the investment dialogue between the businesses of the two countries. The sustainable development of trade requires not only strategic decisions at the State level, but also the active participation of the private sector.
