Wildberries, a member of the united RVB structure, announced the launch of testing of a new digital function — "Customer Fitting". This tool is designed so that users can visually try on clothes on their image in the mobile application.

The service became available to the first users as part of the WB Club subscription and to a number of sellers participating in the testing. A new "See the thing on yourself" button has appeared in the cards of supported products, by clicking which the buyer can upload his photo — both actual and from the gallery — and see how a particular product will look on his figure.

The technology is based on a combination of artificial intelligence and computer vision algorithms. The system analyzes the body features, proportions and lighting in the image, applying clothes so that they match the anatomy and visually look realistic. This approach is designed to remove the barrier between online shopping and a real fitting, making the process of choosing clothes more comfortable and accurate.

The team is currently collecting feedback from users and partners of the marketplace in order to refine the functionality. Upon completion of the pilot, the option will be available to all platform participants connected to the Jam subscription.

Such digital tools are becoming an important competitive advantage of marketplaces. They simplify the selection process, increase customer satisfaction and reduce the number of returns, since the user can estimate in advance how the item will look on it.

In addition, the new feature promotes a more personalized approach to shopping, allowing customers to make more informed decisions without unnecessary risk. This step in the development of online shopping reflects a general trend in the market: the integration of AI into the user experience is becoming the standard in the e-commerce industry.
