FESCO retained its leadership in the media rating of railway operators in the third quarter of 2025, significantly increasing its reach and number of mentions, while competitors reduced the figures.

The SCAN-Interfax system, together with the Russian Railways-Partner portal, presented the media rating of railway operators for the third quarter of 2025. In terms of all key indicators — the number of mentions, the index of visibility and audience reach — the FESCO transport group has once again become the leader, confirming the status of the most discussed company in the railway industry.

FESCO topped the ranking with 1,668 publications, which is 24% more than in the second quarter. The second place was taken by the Federal Cargo Company (FGC) with 371 mentions, and the third was TransContainer (298 materials), which reduced its media activity by 42%. At the same time, FESCO significantly strengthened its position on the visibility index, increasing the indicator by 34%, and its gap from the nearest competitor turned out to be fivefold. In the audience coverage rating, the transport group also took the lead, increasing the indicator by an impressive 154%.

The main drivers of FESCO's media presence were publications about the launch of new container services and international routes. Among them are trains from Vladivostok to Yekaterinburg and Kaluga, direct connections to Vietnam, the organization of regular service between Petrozavodsk and Vladivostok, as well as the delivery of refrigerated containers to China, Oman and other countries. The company's activities were also actively covered at the Eastern Economic Forum and the Far Eastern Container Forum in Vladivostok. FESCO became a partner of the WEF and introduced a number of initiatives in the field of multimodal logistics and digitalization of transportation.

FGC confidently holds the second place in the rating. The company improved its visibility index by 24%, although the number of mentions decreased. The key information guides were personnel changes, such as the appointment of Dmitry Murev as CEO of FGC and the company's 15th anniversary. In addition, media attention was attracted by reports of the conclusion of an agreement with the Uralvagonzavod concern for the supply of 40 innovative 8-axle semi-trailers of the Ural 12-5991 model, as well as participation in industry initiatives of the Union of Railway Transport Operators.

TransContainer is in the third position of the media rating. The company actively participated in professional events, upgraded the terminal infrastructure and promoted environmental projects. Among the most notable news are the launch of a solar power plant in Rostov, the expansion of terminal capacity in Kirov, and the construction of a logistics center near Vladivostok.

Gazpromtrans, Rusagrotrans and OTLK EPA were also among the notable participants in the rating, which showed positive dynamics in all three key metrics. OTLK EPA especially stood out, which increased its audience reach by more than five times thanks to the coverage of the UTLC Cup-2025 sports tournament.

In general, according to the results of the third quarter, the media field of the railway market remained saturated. The main topics of the publications concerned infrastructure development, the construction of the Moscow–St. Petersburg high-speed highway, the dynamics of export transportation and the digital transformation of logistics. The initiatives of Russian Railways to change tariff policy and develop transport routes in Siberia and the Far East were also noted among the key events.

The rating of SKAN-Interfax is based on an analysis of more than 80,000 Russian and foreign media outlets, including agencies, TV channels, print and online publications. The study covers July–September 2025 and makes it possible to assess the media presence and communication activity of the leading railway industry operators.
