FESCO Transport and Logistics Group is strengthening its position in the Far East by taking over Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Commercial Seaport and Kamchatka Shipping Company. This was reported in the company's press service. The solution is aimed at improving the efficiency of cargo transportation, developing coastal routes and improving the supply of remote regions of Russia.
According to the statement of the operator, FESCO, represented by the management company FESCO Transport Group LLC, received the powers of the sole executive body for both structures. The company stressed that measures to organize the management and smooth operation of enterprises have already been implemented. This will not only optimize logistics processes, but also strengthen Russia's position in the field of maritime transportation in the Far East.
The Kamchatka Territory is of particular importance to FESCO: it is here that the key section of the FPKL coastal route connecting Vladivostok and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky passes. This service provides regular supplies of food, machinery and industrial goods, maintaining vital links with the northern regions.
Now that the Kamchatka Port and the shipping company have come under the control of FESCO, the company plans to develop new routes, expand terminal capacity and strengthen the fleet. Representatives of the operator note that this decision will increase transport safety and supply stability in the northern territories, as well as give an impetus to the development of coastal transportation.
FESCO remains one of the largest logistics players in the country. It has over 30 vessels, its own railway assets and integrated logistics services at its disposal. The company also manages the Vladivostok Commercial Seaport, and in 2023, a controlling stake in FESCO was transferred to the Rosatom state Corporation. Thus, the unification of key ports of the Far East under a single management forms a powerful logistics cluster capable of efficiently servicing the growing cargo flows in the region.
