The first international conference on blockchain and cryptocurrencies was held in Tehran. The deBlock 2025 forum has become a step towards Iran's digital transformation and strengthening its position as a key partner of the BRICS countries in the field of the digital economy.

The first international conference on blockchain and cryptocurrencies, deBlock 2025, has ended in Tehran, bringing together politicians, diplomats, fintech industry experts and media representatives. The forum has become a platform for discussing the role of digital assets in the Iranian economy and the prospects for cooperation with the BRICS countries.

The message of the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, read out by a member of the Tehran City Council, Ali Asghar Qayemi, emphasizes the need for strategic cooperation with BRICS partners. According to him, digital currencies can strengthen a country's financial independence and take international trade beyond traditional currency mechanisms.

"The global economy is becoming multipolar. For Iran, participation in the BRICS opens the way to creating new financial instruments and strengthening its role in international trade," Ghalibaf said.

The head of the parliament's Economic Committee, Shamseddin Hosseini, recalled that in accordance with the Seventh National Development Plan, Iran intends to increase the share of the digital economy in GDP to 10%, which is impossible without the introduction of blockchain and crypto assets into the public administration system.

Within the framework of the conference, expert working groups were formed to develop proposals for public policy, educational programs, and research on the use of technology in trade, public administration, and finance.

Following the results of the forum, the participants proposed to create a permanent platform for international dialogue that would bring together representatives of government, business and science.
