Russia and Namibia have agreed to step up trade and economic cooperation and expand business cooperation. At the working meeting, representatives of the two countries discussed the prospects of Russian business participation in projects in Namibia, the development of financial infrastructure and the search for new growth points for mutually beneficial partnership.

Russia and Namibia have outlined a course towards expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The focus is on the development of business ties, the search for new areas for joint projects and the creation of conditions for simplifying settlements between entrepreneurs of the two countries.

A working meeting was held between Veronika Nikishina, Director General of the Russian Export Center, and Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Namibia. The talks were devoted to practical steps to increase trade turnover and strengthen the presence of Russian business in the African market.

The parties discussed strengthening economic ties and identifying new growth points that can form the basis for a mutually beneficial partnership. Special emphasis was placed on the role of the Russian Export Center in accompanying Russian companies when entering the market of Namibia and other countries in southern Africa.

A separate topic was the support of the REC in organizing the participation of Russian businesses in the business forum in Namibia. Such platforms are considered as an effective tool for establishing direct contacts between companies, presenting export potential and forming cooperation projects in industry, the agricultural sector and infrastructure.

Financial infrastructure issues occupied an important place in the negotiations. The representatives of the parties stressed the need to develop settlement mechanisms that will reduce transaction costs and increase the reliability of payments between entrepreneurs from Russia and Namibia. In the context of the transformation of the global financial system, this aspect is becoming a key factor in the sustainability of foreign economic relations.

The head of the Russian Export Center noted the significant, not yet fully realized potential of bilateral cooperation. According to her, the partnership between Russia and Namibia is based on historically established relations and can gain new content through the expansion of trade and investment projects.

Experts note that Russia's interest in African countries continues to grow, and Namibia is considered a promising partner due to its geographical location, resource potential and interest in diversifying foreign economic relations. This opens up opportunities for Russian businesses to supply high-value-added products, participate in infrastructure projects, and develop cooperation in the service sector.
