China and Brazil agreed to develop cooperation within the framework of BRICS, strengthen multilateralism and protect a just world order. Meeting of Wang Yi and Selsu Amorim in Beijing.

The People's Republic of China expressed its readiness to deepen its partnership with Brazil in the framework of the development of the BRICS association. The corresponding statement was made during a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and senior adviser to Brazilian President Celso Amorim, held in Beijing.

The Chinese diplomat stressed the strategic importance of bilateral cooperation for the successful future of the entire organization. Wang Yi noted that Beijing intends to work with its Brazilian partners to make significant efforts to ensure the progressive development of the BRICS and strengthen its position on the world stage.

During the negotiations, special attention was paid to the principled position of both countries regarding the need to protect a multilateral approach in international relations and strict observance of established norms of international law. The Chinese side confirmed its interest in close coordination with Brazil on key issues of cooperation between the member States of the association.

For his part, Brazilian representative Celso Amorim emphasized the exceptional importance of strengthening ties between the countries of the Global South and the BRICS members. He praised China's initiatives in the field of global governance and assured Brazil of its determination to work together with Chinese partners to protect the principles of a just world order.

The meeting of diplomats took place within the framework of Amorim's visit to the capital of China, where he took part in commemorative events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II. This event was another evidence of the strengthening of the political dialogue between the two largest BRICS economies.

Experts note that strengthening Sino-Brazilian cooperation within the framework of the association is in line with the long-term interests of both countries and contributes to the formation of a more balanced system of international relations. Cooperation between Beijing and Brazil can become an important factor in further consolidating the countries of the Global South and strengthening their influence on global processes.

The talks in Beijing demonstrated the mutual interest of the parties in developing a multipolar architecture of the world and creating alternative centers of global influence, which corresponds to the strategic goals of the BRICS as an organization.
