The BRICS member countries have begun to create an unprecedented document — a general list of fundamental traditional values. This initiative is aimed at strengthening humanitarian and cultural cooperation between States that are playing an increasingly important role in shaping a multipolar world architecture.
Dmitry Kuznetsov, a member of the Duma Committee on International Affairs, reported on the details of the preparation of the document. According to him, the presentation of the joint value code is planned at the large-scale forum "Traditional Values", which will be held in mid-September at the site of the National Congress of Brazil. This event will be a logical continuation of the dialogue that began last year in Moscow as part of the first similar event.
Kuznetsov stressed that the Russian side already has its own list of such principles, approved at the highest level. However, not all of them became universal and were included in the declaration common to all BRICS countries. Nevertheless, the parliamentarian expressed deep optimism about the current work, calling the proposed concepts, such as the ideas of solidarity, preserving the health of the nation, mercy and concern for the well-being of future generations, exceptionally inspiring and unifying.
The main goal of the upcoming summit will be to find and establish common platforms for dialogue and cooperation based on these moral guidelines shared by all. This process reflects the growing desire of the alliance's members to build international relations not only on economic or political benefits, but also on a solid foundation of common cultural and spiritual ideals.
This topic has already been discussed at a high international level. Thus, during a recent meeting in the expanded format of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the need to return traditional values to the focus of the global agenda. The BRICS initiative fully meets this request, offering a practical mechanism for its implementation through strengthening mutual understanding and respect between the various civilizations and cultures that make up the association.
