There is a flurry of updates on marketplaces again: tariff changes, the launch of new services, and strategic moves by companies. Below are the key news of the week from Wildberries, Ozon and Yandex.Market.
Wildberries announced an increase in commissions starting on September 24. Sellers using the FBS model now pay 3.5 percentage points more. For the DBS and DBW models, tariffs have become individual for each category. You can find out the rates in your personal account. The commissions for FBW, EDBS, and Click&Collect models remained unchanged. In addition, logistics has become more expensive since September 15: the base rate for the first liter has been increased to 46 rubles, and each subsequent one to 14 rubles.
The balance index is now calculated according to the new rules. Products delivered to the warehouse within the last 60 days do not affect the indicator. The discount algorithm has also been clarified: now it depends on the average price 30 days before the index falls. Until October 1, sellers can independently decide on the future of low-value products, otherwise WB will launch an automatic sale.
The company has expanded the list of free warehouses — until the end of the year, six storage facilities will not be charged. There is also a new WB Books service, an experimental platform for reading and buying books. The marketplace is also considering the possibility of installing mini-coffee shops in the PVZ, offering franchise owners a leasing scheme for coffee machines starting from 200,000 rubles.
Ozon announced an increase in logistics tariffs from October 1, especially for bulky goods. The terms of delivery will change for both FBO and FBS. The marketplace has also implemented the return of FBS products without defects — now they are sent back to warehouses for subsequent sale. Other innovations include age and gender targeting in media ads, as well as the ability to sell perishable products through realFBS.
Yandex.Market has added a new indicator — "average shipping time". Companies that comply with the time frame will be able to receive a 4% discount. In addition, tariffs for product placement will increase from October 1, especially for FBS models. For new products, free storage will be extended for up to 90 days.
Other high—profile news includes the purchase of Magas Airport in Ingushetia by Wildberries and a reduction in the registration fee to 5,000 rubles with the possibility of using the entire amount for promotion.
The additional economic background was reinforced by the news about the upcoming reduction of the limit on the Unified tax system to 10 million rubles from 2026 and the planned increase in VAT to 22%. These measures can significantly affect the business model of small sellers and force them to switch to a full taxation system.
So a week passed, with new challenges, but also new opportunities for sellers who are ready to adapt.
