The combined Wildberries & Russ company has launched a new logistics complex in Yerevan and thereby strengthened its presence in the Armenian market. The new facility is located in the administrative district of Akhtanak and occupies about 23 thousand square meters. m. Since March 30, it began accepting sellers' goods for storage, and also became available for deliveries using the Marketplace model.
This is an important step for the Armenian market. The new facility is designed to process up to 500,000 goods per day, which means the platform gets a noticeably larger margin in terms of speed of operations, assortment and supply stability. In the application plan, this is reflected in three things: delivery to the buyer is faster, it becomes more convenient for sellers to work with inventory, and the ecommerce model itself is easier to scale within the country.
The export contour is also important. The company's Regional Director in Armenia, David Mirzoyan, outlined the project strategy bluntly: "The opening of a new logocenter in Yerevan is an important step in the development of the Wildberries ecosystem in Armenia. We are creating an infrastructure that will make it easier for local entrepreneurs to manage the storage of goods and significantly simplify the processes of entering international markets. Our goal is to make logistics as convenient and efficient as possible so that Armenian sellers can scale their business and expand export opportunities."
This wording shows that we are not just talking about an additional warehouse. Wildberries is building an infrastructure in Armenia that works as a reference point for local businesses and at the same time as a channel for integration into broader regional trade. For Armenian entrepreneurs, this means more convenient access to platform logistics, and for the company itself, the opportunity to integrate more closely into the cross—border turnover of the Caucasus and the EAEU.
Wildberries already has a sorting center in Armenia on Artashisyan Street, and the new logistics complex in Akhtanak is becoming the next level of infrastructure. Against the background of the growth of online commerce in the region, this solution looks like a bet on a long game, where the speed of product processing and the density of the logistics network are becoming one of the main competitive advantages.
