Russia is preparing for a new stage in the implementation of the digital ruble. Starting in the fall of 2026, it will be used to pay salaries, first in large banks and companies. For citizens, the choice of the form of income generation will remain voluntary.

Starting in October 2025, Russia will launch the phased introduction of the digital ruble, a new form of national currency controlled by the Central Bank. This measure will affect both ordinary citizens and business representatives: first, pensioners and benefit recipients will be involved in the project, then large companies and banks will join the digital platform, and by 2028, the whole country.
