The Russian government has banned the import of electronic devices for receiving and transmitting signals from foreign satellites without special permission. The restriction applies to dual—use equipment, including Starlink terminals and their analogues. The ban has been in effect for six months, and control is assigned to the Federal Customs Service and the FSB.

On September 1, a new algorithm for calculating truck tolls entered into force in the Platon system. According to the Russian Ministry of Transport, the system now automatically completes the route of the vehicle in cases when the on-board device loses the satellite signal. This innovation should solve the problem of erroneous fines, which have caused serious difficulties for carriers over the past year and a half.
