In 2026, freight transportation in Russia will rise in price by 15-18%. The main reasons will be an increase in fuel prices, an increase in VAT, an increase in the cost of transport repairs and the indexation of payments in the Platon system, market participants warn.

On September 1, a new algorithm for calculating truck tolls entered into force in the Platon system. According to the Russian Ministry of Transport, the system now automatically completes the route of the vehicle in cases when the on-board device loses the satellite signal. This innovation should solve the problem of erroneous fines, which have caused serious difficulties for carriers over the past year and a half.
