We will tell you how you can legally transfer money to Kazakhstan from Russia in 2025: limits, commissions and three relevant methods.

Russians continue to actively use Kazakhstan as a channel for international financial transactions. Despite the decrease in the volume of transfers in 2024 compared to the peak figures of 2023, interest in sending funds to a neighboring country remains. This is due to both personal and business goals, from saving money to settling accounts with foreign partners.

According to the current currency regulation, Russian citizens can transfer up to $1 million per month to foreign accounts, including Kazakh ones. However, when using money transfers through the Golden Crown type of systems, the limit is only $10,000 per month. There may also be additional requirements from banks, especially when transferring large amounts — they may require confirmation of the source of funds.

There are three main ways to transfer money to Kazakhstan:

**1. Bank transfers** — suitable for large amounts. Conditions vary depending on the bank: for example, in Sberbank, the commission is up to 1%, and the limit is up to 4.5 million rubles per month. In Alfa-Bank, you can send up to ₽100 thousand without commission, then 0.5%. VTB allows you to send transfers in tenge and sets maximum limits up to ₽20 million when transferring using banking details.

**2. Payment systems and electronic wallets** are ideal for fast and small transfers. Popular services include Zolotaya Korona (fixed commission of ₽99), Kwikpay, and Yumopeu. The latter requires an identified wallet and charges a 3% commission with a limit of 75,000 rubles per transaction.

**3. Cryptocurrency** is a method for advanced users. First, for example, USDT is purchased on the exchange via P2P, then sent to the recipient's wallet, where he exchanges the asset for tenge. The method provides flexibility, but comes with risks, including possible card blocking.

It is important to take into account not only the commission, but also the conversion rate — it affects the total amount in tenge. It is also worth remembering that all limits are valid until the end of March 2026 and may be revised.

Thus, each method has its pros and cons, and the choice depends on the goals, amount, and willingness of the user to bureaucratic procedures.
