The Ministry of Finance has opened 47 new TIR corridors, changing the structure of international logistics. What this means for carriers and how to use the new features are discussed below.

On September 27, 2025, a new order of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation No. 73h entered into force, according to which Russian road carriers gained access to 47 updated corridors using the TIR system. This has become an important step in the development of international transport routes, especially in the context of increased cargo traffic through Asian and European destinations.

The TIR (International Carriage of Goods using a TIR Carnet) system allows for passage through Customs borders with minimal verification, as the cargo is registered at the time of dispatch and accompanied by internationally recognized documents. This simplifies procedures, saves time and reduces costs for both carriers and importers.

The updated list includes 47 automobile checkpoints and 3 seaports. Among the innovations is the expansion of opportunities in the Far Eastern direction. The Kani-Kurgan checkpoint (on the Blagoveshchensk–Heihe Bridge) and the Kraskino checkpoint have been added to the existing Zabaikalsk and Pogranichny checkpoints. These points allow you to optimize routes and reduce the load on traditionally overloaded checkpoints.

In practice, the new corridors have already started working: the first cargo, equipment for the ice arena, crossed the border through Kraskino and reached Vladivostok, saving up to two days compared to standard routes.

Carriers get several advantages at once: more flexibility in choosing routes, less paperwork, the ability to bypass congested crossings and reduce time at the border. However, it is important to take into account time constraints: in the early days of the new points, short—term pauses were recorded - in particular, Kraskino was closed on October 1-3 due to holidays in China.

Experts emphasize that the use of TIR requires careful planning and preparation. Companies should check the checkpoint's operating mode in advance, calculate the traffic schedule and select a suitable corridor, taking into account the logistical load. At the same time, government support for the introduction of TIR mechanisms indicates a strategic course towards accelerating international trade and developing export-import logistics.

The opening of new TIR corridors opens the way for Russian carriers to increase efficiency and reduce risks. This is not just a change in the list of passes, but a new logic of working with international routes, where speed and legal purity come to the fore.
