According to a study conducted by Yandex Market, artificial intelligence technologies are increasingly becoming an integral part of the Russian consumer experience. According to the survey results, approximately one in three users would entrust a neural network with the choice of equipment such as computers and household appliances.

The most popular AI assistant functions are the ability to analyze reviews from other customers, personalized product selection, and the ability to explain complex characteristics in understandable language. 40% of respondents identified the collection and analysis of reviews as the most useful function, 34% — individual selection, and 33% — an accessible explanation of technical parameters.

The study also revealed that users consider the main advantages of AI in online shopping to be its ability to take into account more factors than humans, objectivity in making recommendations, and time savings. At the same time, 30% of respondents are already ready to transfer the choice of computer equipment to the discretion of the neural network, 28% — repair goods, and 27% — consumer electronics.

The results are confirmed by internal analytics of Yandex Market itself. In the spring of 2025, the platform launched a test version of the AI assistant, and most of the requests to it concerned a selection of goods: from electronics and clothing to sports accessories.

Most users note that choosing a product is often accompanied by the need to search for information on third-party resources. 76% admitted that they have to turn to forums and websites to sort out the nuances. A third of the respondents face difficulty choosing among the many models, and 19% are afraid to make a mistake and buy a low-quality product. All this makes AI assistants in demand and effective.

The survey was conducted among 1,302 respondents from 17 Russian regions, aged 18 and over. These data show not only the high level of interest in digital assistants, but also how consumer behavior is actively changing towards automated choice and convenience.

Thus, artificial intelligence is becoming an important link in the online sales chain, offering the user an easier, faster and more confident way to make purchases.
