As winter approaches, customers on the Ozon marketplace have significantly increased their interest in automotive products. According to the company's analytical service, demand for winter tires and car care products increased particularly noticeably in October.
In particular, tire sales in the first two weeks of October increased 1.6 times compared to the same period last year. The regions of Russia outside the capital played a leading role in this growth: in Primorye, the volume of purchases increased by more than 5.5 times, in Chechnya – by 5 times, and in the Amur region – by 4. Buyers most often chose the brands Cordiant, Ikon Tyres and Pirelli.
Separately, it should be noted that high sales growth was observed in the commercial vehicle segment. The demand for winter tires for trucks and corporate fleets has increased by more than 2.5 times, driven by the activity of B2B customers.
Ozon promptly responded to changes in consumer behavior by expanding the range of tires by more than two thirds. As a result, over 1.2 million unique products in the tire category are now available to customers.
At the same time, the demand for auto chemicals has increased, especially for winter vehicles.: de-icers, windshield washer fluids, and lock defrosters. Sales of these products increased 2.5 times on average compared to last year.
Analysts also note a noticeable increase in interest in tire pressure monitoring systems, sales of which increased 2.2 times. This is due to the fact that drivers have become more attentive to road safety, especially given the seasonal temperature fluctuations and difficult road conditions.
Thus, the marketplace has become a convenient platform for many car owners to prepare for the winter season, with a wide range of products and a quick response to demand.
