30,000 exhibiting companies have set up stands at the three stages of the fair, which will last until November 4. 64% of the participants implemented industrial Internet or artificial intelligence into their products and processes, an indicator that the organizers have recorded for the first time on such a scale.
The share of new products among the exhibits reached 23.2%, green products — 26%. Both values have become historical records over the 70 years of the fair. More than 700 new product presentations are planned.
For the first time, the platform presented 22 scenarios for the use of intelligent technologies and 16 AI-based applications. Navigation through the stands through the digital system now covers the entire exhibition complex — this changes the logic of the buyer's work: the route through the pavilions can be built in advance, focusing on specific categories of goods.
"We always work together with exhibitors and purchasers to jointly support the multilateral trading system and promote an open global economy," said Zhu Yun, director of the China Foreign Trade Center.
The Canton Fair is traditionally considered a barometer of Chinese exports: the dynamics of transactions and the composition of exhibitors reflect the real state of the country's production base. The growing share of AI products and green goods indicates a shift in Chinese supply towards high-tech and regulatory—sensitive categories, precisely those where Russian importers face increased customs controls and certification requirements.
The fair takes place in three stages from October 15th to November 4th. Russian buyers who work directly with Chinese suppliers can use the platform to verify counterparties and negotiate supply terms for the next year.
