The permissive mode in the "Honest Sign" works like this: when the check is punched, the cashier makes a real—time request to the labeling system - it checks whether the product is legal. If the answer is yes, the sale goes through. If not, the cashier blocks the operation.
This request was previously sent using the X-API-KEY token, a technical key that identifies the cash register software in the system. Starting from July 1, this authentication method is disabled. The system will switch to a more modern and secure protocol.
What happens if you don't update
When trying to sell a marked product, the cashier will turn to an "Honest Mark" with an outdated token. The system will not respond correctly. Permissive mode will block the sale.
For a retail store, this means a queue at the checkout and the inability to make a transaction. For a marketplace seller with its own retail, it means stopping shipments from a warehouse when scanning codes. For the wholesaler, it is impossible to confirm the acceptance of the UPD with marked goods through the EDI.
Which categories of goods are at risk
Dairy products, tobacco, perfumes and cosmetics, footwear, clothing and light industry, over-the-counter medicines, tires and tires, sturgeon and salmon caviar, beer and low-alcohol beverages, animal feed, motor oils. The full list of categories under the permissive regime is available on the Honest Sign website.
What needs to be done
The official algorithm from Honest Sign is to check if there is an update for your cash register system (1C, ATOL, Evotor, MoiSklad, and others) that eliminates dependence on the X-API-KEY. If there is, install it today. If not, contact the technical support of the cash register software provider.
Most major cash register software vendors have released updates in advance. The delay in updating is the decision of a particular entrepreneur or IT service, not a technical impossibility. Today is the last day.
Connection with the import of labeled goods
For importers who sell labeled goods through their own retail: in addition to updating the cash register, make sure that the labeling codes on imported goods are correctly entered into the system and correspond to the HS codes specified in the customs declaration. In case of discrepancies, the permissive mode will block the sale regardless of the token version.
