IV International Forum "SPROUTS: Russia and China — mutually beneficial cooperation" completed its work in Kazan on August 16-19, 2026. The audience exceeded 10,000 people — delegates from 37 countries, 68 subjects of the Russian Federation and 29 divisions of the PRC. Media coverage was 99.3 million people.

Trade turnover on the way to a historical record

Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui cited the key figure of the forum: from January to July 2026, the bilateral trade turnover reached $ 159 billion, 26% higher than in the same period last year. A new historical maximum may be set at the end of the year. Among the key speakers of the forum were Alexander Babakov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, Alexander Sokolov and Vasily Orlov, Governors of the Kirov and Amur regions, Oksana Lut, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, and Zhou Lijun, Chairman of the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia.

Atlas of investments for Chinese business

The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, together with the Russian Direct Investment Fund, presented the Atlas of Russian-Chinese Investment Cooperation, a step—by-step guide for investors from China on launching projects in Russian regions with a description of government support measures and working conditions. The atlas will appear on the page of the Russian Embassy in China and will be included in the digital investment support system of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Drones and the low-altitude economy

The central technology topic was the low—altitude economy - unmanned aircraft systems as a new driver of industry and logistics. Rustam Minnikhanov, the Rais of Tatarstan, said that by 2030 it is planned to equip 35 subjects of the Russian Federation with infrastructure for unmanned aircraft. Tatarstan aims to become a key competence center in this area, including for development in the Far East. The Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Shenzhen Association of the Artificial Intelligence Industry.

Exhibition and agreements

49 agreements in the field of high technologies, AI, agriculture and strategic cooperation were signed on the sidelines of the forum. The Russia-China Expo exhibition with an area of 14 thousand square meters brought together more than 130 companies from IT, industry and agriculture. For the first time, companies from new regions of China debuted. The forum was covered by 298 media representatives.
