The Mongolian delegation at the forum is headed by Borkhugiin Dalgersaikhan, Minister of Roads and Transport, and Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, heads the Russian delegation.
The business program opened with a panel session "Transport connectivity and cross-border cooperation: the role of the regions of Mongolia and Russia in the development of Eurasian transport corridors." Welcoming remarks at the opening were made by Dalgara Khan and Dmitry Zverev, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation. Presentations at the session were made by Dalgairsaikhan himself, Head of the Administration of Mongolian Border Posts E. Gantulga, Head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov and Minister of Tourism of Buryatia Aldar Dorzhiev. The participation of the Buryat delegation in the conversation on cross—border cooperation is natural: the region directly borders Mongolia.
The second panel session was devoted to sports cooperation between the regions of the two countries, attended by representatives of the sports sector of Mongolia and Russia. The forum's program includes other industry sessions, including on cooperation in medicine and entrepreneurship.
The Forum is also accompanied by a bilateral political track. According to Russian media reports, on the sidelines of the event, Alexey Overchuk held a number of meetings with the leadership of Mongolia, where the parties discussed in detail topical issues of Russian-Mongolian cooperation, both bilaterally and in the EAEU format, including the implementation of agreements reached at meetings between the President of Russia and the President and Prime Minister of Mongolia in Bishkek (at the SCO summit) and in Vladivostok.
The forum continues the format set a year earlier: at the first meeting of the regions, held in December 2025 in Irkutsk, the parties signed a cooperation development program for 2026-2030, which provides for more than 120 joint events between the regions of Russia and the aimags of Mongolia.
