Marketplace Law from October: uniform rules for all sellers
On May 14, Ozon launched its second fulfillment center in the Novosibirsk Region. Investments amount to 6.5 billion rubles. First stage: 80 thousand square meters, 40 million items at a time, 550 thousand orders per day. At full capacity — 1.4 million orders per day. The region has become a key logistics hub of the marketplace in Asia: from here orders go from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk, and now abroad.

The second Ozon fulfillment center in the Novosibirsk Region is not just another warehouse. This is the largest logistics facility of the marketplace in Siberia, which is changing the supply economy for several tens of thousands of sellers east of the Urals.

What exactly was built

The facility is located in the Industrial and Logistics Park of the Novosibirsk region. The first stage is about 80 thousand square meters of warehouse space. After entering all queues, the facility will reach 100 thousand square meters. m.

At the start: — storage of more than 40 million goods at the same time — processing up to 550 thousand orders per day

After reaching full capacity: — storage of about 50 million items — throughput of up to 1.4 million orders per day

Investments in technological equipment and IT infrastructure amount to over 6.5 billion rubles. The center operates on its own warehouse management system (WMS), developed internally.

The first Ozon fulfillment center in the region with an area of over 60 thousand square meters is already operating nearby. It stores more than 15 million goods and processes over 530 thousand orders per day. Now the combined capacity of the two facilities in the Novosibirsk Region surpasses the largest warehouses in most Russian regions in terms of storage volume.

Additionally, there are two delivery hubs in the region. In the Siberian Federal District, there are more than 9,5 thousand Ozone distribution points, of which over 4.3 thousand are in cities with a population of up to 50 thousand people.

Why Siberia

The numbers explain the logic. The number of orders in Siberia increased by 85% over the year, which, according to Ozon, is one of the highest growth rates in Russia. The number of regular customers of the platform in the region has grown by almost a third. About 30 thousand entrepreneurs from the Novosibirsk region work with the marketplace.

Before the opening of the first center, Siberian sellers transported goods for storage to warehouses in central Russia, which added to the cost of logistics and extended the time for goods to appear on display. Now the chain is shorter: the goods are delivered locally, the order goes to the buyer directly from the region.

For buyers, this means faster delivery. For sellers— it reduces the cost of interregional logistics and the ability to keep a regional warehouse without renting a separate room.

What does this give sellers with imported goods

Novosibirsk is a transit hub for flows from Asia. Shipments from China, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia pass through the city. For importers who import goods via the eastern routes, the appearance of a powerful fulfillment center right on the route is an opportunity to reduce the last mile of logistics.

Instead of taking the container to Moscow and shipping it around the country from there, it is now possible to place the goods in Novosibirsk and ship them through the Ozon infrastructure throughout Russia. The marketplace takes care of the storage, assembly of orders, packaging and delivery.

For Chinese and Kazakh goods imported through Zabaikalsk or Dostyk, the logistics chain to Novosibirsk is on average shorter than to Moscow by 2-3 thousand km. In money, this is the visible difference in the carrier's rate.

For sellers focused on the Siberian and Far Eastern markets, the new center also solves the problem of timing: goods from Novosibirsk reach customers in the Siberian Federal District faster than from Moscow warehouses.

Competitive context

By the end of 2026, another large logistics facility is due to open in the Novosibirsk Region, this time Wildberries. Both marketplaces are simultaneously building up infrastructure in the region, competing for sellers and for the speed of delivery.

According to Ozon, the company's logistics infrastructure exceeds 5 million square meters. It is 500 m by floor and includes 55 fulfillment centers and about 160 delivery hubs from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk.

The Novosibirsk facility is becoming the eastern anchor of this network.

A practical question for sellers

You can sign up for the delivery of goods to a new warehouse right now — this is open in your personal account on the platform. For sellers working with imported goods and focused on the Siberian and Far Eastern markets, it is worth evaluating whether it is more profitable to transfer part of the flow to Novosibirsk, given the reduced transportation costs for internal logistics.

There is a separate showcase "Made in the Novosibirsk Region" for manufacturers from the region who want to promote products to the 67 million active customers of the platform across the country.
