Starting from September 1, 2026, a package of changes came into force in the Honest Mark labeling system, affecting several product lines at once.
The application of codes has become mandatory for manufacturers and importers of cottage cheese, pasta, honey, muesli and instant potatoes. The first stage has started for these categories, which will be followed by flour, cereals, cereal mixtures and dough mixtures starting from December 1, 2026.
The second block of changes closes the trading of balances. Since September 1, the sale of unmarked sports nutrition and biologically active additives with a shelf life of up to three years is prohibited. Goods that were stored in a warehouse without codes can no longer be sold legally.
The third block is the registration of turnover participants in new groups. For fertilizers, it began on September 1, and mandatory application of codes starts on November 1, 2026. Registration for reusable electronic cigarettes and similar devices also opened on September 1, and labeling will become mandatory on December 1, 2026.
A separate detail that quietly breaks the product cards: glazed cheeses and a number of related items are being transferred from the "Confectionery" category to "Dairy products". For the seller, this does not mean changing shelves, but having to check and update the information in the National Catalog if necessary, otherwise the discrepancy will surface at the first sale.
What importers and sellers should do this week. Check the HS codes to see if your items fall into the starting groups, and arrange for the codes to be applied before release — at a temporary storage warehouse or on the supplier's side. Make an inventory of the remnants of sports nutrition and dietary supplements: an unlabeled product with a short shelf life is out of circulation. To register in the fertilizer and vaping system, there are two to three months before mandatory labeling. And check the glazed cheese cards in the National Catalog separately.
