Marketplaces are discussing discount rules: will customers be able to receive equal bonuses from any bank's cards, or will promotions remain a tool for private conditions?

A new discussion has broken out in the e-commerce market about the rules for providing discounts to customers. Ozon advocated that banks receive equal conditions for participating in promotions on marketplaces, which would allow customers to receive discounts regardless of which bank cards they pay with.

Wildberries considers this issue to be purely commercial, and attempts to oblige marketplaces to provide discounts for all cards are "absurd", since the promotion is a voluntary business tool.

Meanwhile, government agencies are discussing the possibility of extending rules on long-term contracts with fixed prices for socially significant products, similar to offline retail, to large online platforms. According to the draft, from March 1, 2026, up to 90% of sales of certain categories of goods on the Internet may fall under the new regulation.
