Wildberries, Ozon and Yandex Market have started accepting payments in digital rubles. The launch took place a day after the obligation to accept this form of payment entered into force for large trading enterprises.
The duty threshold for 2026 is annual revenue of over 120 million rubles. In fact, this is about 10 million rubles of turnover per month, that is, not only large businesses fall under the requirement.
The key issue for the seller lies in the design of the transaction. If the seller is the site itself, the obligation to accept the digital ruble falls on it. If the site works as an agent, and the seller remains a party to the contract, the threshold of 120 million rubles is calculated based on his revenue, and the obligation arises for him. The answer is in the offer: you need to see who is indicated by the seller in the contract with the buyer and on whose behalf the check is being issued.
The second practical detail is money. The digital ruble is stored in an account on the Bank of Russia's platform, rather than in a regular checking account. The mechanics of transferring funds into circulation from banks vary in terms of deadlines and fees, and for trading with a thin margin, the difference of one or two days on deposit is noticeable.
It is worth noting the general context separately. Since September 1, a universal payment code has been launched in parallel, through which the buyer chooses the payment method — SBP, bank service or digital ruble. At the same time, banks have been given a delay in liability until March 1, 2027: some of the acquirers will switch to the universal code later.
What the seller should do this week. Open the current offer of the site and determine your role in the transaction. Calculate the revenue for 12 months and document the calculation if it is close to the threshold. Check with the servicing bank the terms and fees for crediting digital rubles. And check how the new form of payment is reflected in the sales report: the reconciliation of revenue by the end of September should converge the first time.
