Wildberries and Ozon have been checking product catalogs automatically since the beginning of August. Cards that do not pass verification are hidden from the search results and blocked.
The check is based on four criteria. The first is the presence of the Data Matrix code for products from the mandatory labeling groups. The second is a valid certificate of conformity or declaration. The third is a certificate of state registration where it is required. The fourth is the instruction manual in Russian.
A separate regime applies to health products. Sellers of dietary supplements were given until the end of August to eliminate labeling violations. At the same time, the sites restrict the sale of supplements, the description of which claims an instant therapeutic effect without supporting studies and permits.
The August purge fits into a broader design. From September 1, the placement of a link in the card to the current entry in the Rosaccreditation register or the unified register of the EAEU becomes mandatory, about forty sites have already joined the automatic verification service. On October 1, the law on the platform economy comes into force, which makes it the responsibility of the platform operator to verify the seller's data and product documents.
The cost of a mistake for a seller is considered simple. A blocked card loses its position in the issuance and accumulated statistics, and recovery takes time: registration of a declaration or rejection letter is measured in days and weeks. The product is stored in a warehouse and generates storage costs.
What to do. To unload the assortment and check four details for each item: the marking code, the number of the permit document and its status in the register, the availability of a certificate of state registration, and the Russian-language instructions. Importers should additionally check the information from the document with the data of the customs declaration — the discrepancy blocks the entry of goods into circulation. Sellers of dietary supplements are instructed to purge the formulations about the therapeutic effect from the descriptions by the end of August.
