Wildberries and the Ministry of Economic Development have opened support centers for sellers in 8 cities
From July 27 to August 2, 2026, Wildberries did not transfer about 20 billion rubles to sellers for the goods sold. The reason is DDoS attacks on the Merchant's Balance service. 95.6% of sellers were affected. The Union of Marketplace Sellers appealed to the government, the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Federal Tax Service with a request to take into account the cash gaps that have arisen when fulfilling tax obligations.

DDoS attacks on the Merchant's Balance service blocked Wildberries payments from July 27 to August 2, 2026. The total amount of funds held is about 20 billion rubles. 95.6% of the site's sellers complained about the problem.

The Union of Marketplace Sellers sent letters to three departments: the government, the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Federal Tax Service. In an appeal to the tax service, the organization asks to take into account that due to delays, entrepreneurs have cash gaps and timely fulfillment of mandatory payments is difficult for many.

Wildberries confirmed the technical nature of the glitch. The defense mechanisms activated in response to the attacks temporarily suspended the processing of some financial transactions. The platform assured that the sellers' funds have been saved and will be credited to the accounts after the completion of technical procedures.

In addition to cyber attacks, the company has faced drone strikes on its warehouse infrastructure. The damage to the warehouses caused direct losses to the business and disrupted logistics. Two independent sources of pressure — cyber and physical — coincided in time, which increased the financial burden on sellers.

For sellers working with imported goods, the situation is more acute: procurement obligations to foreign counterparties are fixed in time, while sales revenue has been frozen on the site side. In this case, the cash gap translates directly into the risk of late payments to suppliers and contractual penalties.

The possibility of introducing a reduced VAT rate on a number of goods is being discussed separately. The authorities are considering this issue in the context of increased attacks and increased risks for the trading business.

While the Federal Tax Service has not given an official response to the appeal of the Sellers' Union, entrepreneurs should document the delay in payments — screenshots from their personal account, correspondence with site support — and save these materials for possible settlement with the tax authority.
