The contract for sellers explicitly states: "The goods transferred by DNS remain in the ownership of the seller until the moment the goods are sold to the user." The FBO model — delivery to the marketplace warehouse — is already in effect in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladimir, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar and a number of other cities.
The company does not provide any official comments. Earlier, Yulia Volgova, head of DNS's government relations department, denied the launch of the marketplace, assuring that the company would buy back the goods. The contract with the sellers indicates the opposite.
The conditions for sellers look unusual for the Russian market. There is no paid promotion or co-investment. The platform does not charge additional payments. DNS assumes the costs of storage and logistics, with a caveat: if no product has been sold in 30 days, the site has the right to demand its export. The seller sets the price independently.
Data Insight analyst Sergey Semko suggests that DNS will develop "some kind of mixed model" — both under agency agreements and with the purchase of goods. M.Video is already using a similar scheme.
Sergey Petrenko, founder of WOW-Strategy, a marketplace business support company, confirms the attractiveness of the bid: the 20-25% commission is low for the market, and it sounds interesting for sellers tired of the hegemony of Ozon and Wildberries. He considers it unlikely to keep it at this level in the long term.
DNS has a significant starting base. According to Data Insight, in 2025 dns-shop.ru He took the fourth place among the largest online stores in Russia.: online sales amounted to 288.6 billion rubles, the number of orders — 18.1 million. There is already an audience that is used to buying electronics. The question is whether it will be possible to switch it to everyday categories, where loyalty to Ozon and Wildberries has been formed over the years.
For suppliers, including importers of consumer goods from the BRICS countries, the emergence of a third large platform with low fees and no paid promotion means an opportunity to diversify sales channels. The first months of open testing will show how real the traffic in the new categories will turn out to be.
